The Detroit Rising Leader Scholarship represents the heart of Out The Mud Youth

Organization. As someone raised and shaped by Detroit, it is an honor to support our youth as

they rise into leadership and purpose. This inaugural scholarship recognizes resilience,

perseverance, and commitment to growth. We believe Detroit students deserve opportunities,

resources, and belief. This award is one more step toward building a stronger, empowered

generation of leaders.

The Michigan Rising Leader Scholarship expands the mission of Out The Mud Youth

Organization across the entire state. After serving youth in Detroit and Kalamazoo, it became

clear that young leaders across Michigan share the same resilience, passion, and drive. This

statewide award is designed to recognize students who demonstrate leadership, service,

vision, and purpose. By uplifting future leaders, we strengthen not just communities—but the

future of our state.
